News Item. 19 Dec 2013. Pilkington Optiphon™ has been granted the seal of approval by Quiet Mark the international mark of approval from the Noise Abatement Society Charitable Foundation. Launched in 2012, Quiet Mark supports technological innovation for quieter products and awards a stamp of approval to products or schemes that minimise noise.

At the other extreme we can restrict light and solar gain in varying proportions and add colour or reflection into the products. For those areas covering floor slabs or office services, there are complimentary Pilkington Spandrel Glass options to either contrast with the glazing or look similar.

Pilkington Mirai™ offers identical quality, performance and aesthetics as Pilkington Optifloat™ Clear, but with only half the impact on the environment. Pilkington Mirropane™ Pilkington Mirropane™ is an on-line coated glass developed for use as a one-way mirror where clear vision is required and specific lighting conditions can be achieved.

Specialist noise control glass such as Pilkington Optiphon™ has the ability to dampen and block out low and high frequency sounds thanks to a special polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer ‘sandwiched’ between laminated panes of glass. This acoustic PVB absorbs a portion of the sound energy while reflecting noise outside.
